University of Victoria In Academic year 2004-05, the University of Victoria is introducing ADMN 409 (1.5) Leading and Managing in the Non-profit Sector. This course will provide an overview of management in Canada's non-profit and voluntary sector. You will examine the size, scope, structure, functions, value bases, and uniqueness of the non-profit sector, plus the differences between the non-profit, public and private sectors. Topics include: leadership; board governance; strategic analysis; volunteer management; and partnering. You will analyze how management concepts, models, principles, and techniques have validity as applied in the context of non-profit and voluntary sector organizations.
University of Victoria also provides other courses in its public administration diplomas that are applicable to the voluntary sector, i.e. program evaluation, etc., and these can be found at the same web location. |
